Ode To September

Unbelievably it's the end of September so before we step over to October I thought I'd give you a catch up on what I've been up to.

As this years wedding season slows down it means I have more time to work on some new, awesome styled shoots. I LOVE these things - the team that get together for them are some of the best wedding suppliers in Northamptonshire and we always have such a blast when we're together. It also means we can all get super creative and try out new styles and looks out.

Earlier this month, one of our recent shoots, The Secret Garden, was featured on one of my favourite blogs, So You're Getting Married. Thanks to Phoebe from SYGM for featuring this one, it's always great to see you're work published and appreciated by others in the industry. We were lucky to work with the most gorgeous Sophie Gibson, model extraordinaire as well as some names you'll recognise from previous shoots. The look was ethereal bride and was shot in, wait for it,  a secret garden and some beautiful woodland in the Northamptonshire countryside.

You can see the full feature on SYGM here. Ooh and now I have a lovely badge to feature on my website too!

I also ventured down to Hatfield Woods with the likes of Rosie Hardy, for a Fairytale inspired shoot. Hatfield Woods is an amazing place just outside of London and is a photographer's dream. The full post will be coming soon on this one but for now here are a couple of sneak peeks from the day...

Tim & Tasha | Twit & Twoo | Northamptonshire Wedding

The first time I met Tim & Tasha and heard their plans for their big day, I knew it was going to be one fantastic affair. The couple are both involved in musical theatre and their plan was to incorporate their love of all things melodic into their wedding and boy, did they achieve it! Not even the rain could stop this extravaganza of a day - think singing, high kicks and jazz hands and you'll be on the right track...

Emma & Joe | Buckinghamshire | English Countryside Wedding

Last month I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Emma & Joe in the Buckinghamshire countryside, and what a beautiful day it was.

When I first spoke to Emma she told me the story of how her and Joe met. Emma's originally from Essex and met her future husband whilst travelling in Australia and it was pretty much love at first sight. They both got back to the UK and it wasn't long before she'd packed up, said hooroo to Essex and started a new life with Joe in the country.

When you live on a beautiful farm with amazing views, you really don't have to go shopping for wedding venues - it's all (literally) on your doorstep. The ceremony was at the lovely St. Faith's church in Newton Longeville, a place that held a very special meaning for Joe as his grandparents got married there over 50 years ago.

Emma kept it elegantly simple in her stunning lace dress from Blue by Enzoani (from Fairytale Weddings) which she teamed with a beautiful veil trimmed with the matching lace. Not only did she look absolutely gorgeous but she was so relaxed all day, she made it a true delight to spend the day with her and her friends.

Congratulations Emma & Joe and thank you for letting me share your wonderful day with you... x

Bluebell Woods | Styled Shoot | Part 2...

As the last of this seasons bluebells bid farewell, we thought it an apt time to share with you Part 2 of our recent styled shoot. This time we teamed the classic Belle and Bunty dress - The Belle - in an unconventional coral blush with some striking florals by The Flower Stylist.

Beau Bright Events styled a beautiful table in the woods to compliment the blush tones and also (very cleverly) fashioned a den for Molly and Daisy from some gorgeous vintage fabrics... Our friends from The Vintage Bluebell Bakery made the fab ombre wedding cake and the fantastic Bijoux Jewels very generously allowed us to use some of their amazing rings...

We LOVE styled shoots (see Part 1 here) - it means we can get together with our friends and dream up some beautiful looks... All the suppliers based in the this shoot are Northamptonshire based and are exhibitors of The Vintage Wedding Gala. Buy local! Enjoy and feel free to share a comment below...

Midsummer Muse | Styled Shoot | Northamptonshire | Part One...

Before the 2015 wedding season well and truly took over, myself and some awe inspiring Northamptonshire wedding talent got together for one more styled shoot.

Gathering inspiration from the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Tess of the D'urbervilles and Georgia May Jagger, we decided on a boho meets 60's summer vibe for the first part of this fantastic day.

We were lucky enough to have the hair and make up dream team of Lynndy Rolfe and Joanne Tromans working on this one. We all last worked together at Kelmarsh Hall at the end of last year (which you can see here) and it's safe to say, we love working with these girls.

The florals for the shoot were designed by the uber talented Flower Stylist who teamed some beautiful purple garden roses with dreamy ferns and lavender. And yes - they smelt as good as they looked!

The lovely Justine from Beau Bright Events dressed a beautiful table in the woodland for us and also made a floral den for our little cherubs - there will be much more of this in part 2! The gorgeous stationery is by our good friends White Cottage Weddings and in part 2 you'll also see cake from Vintage Bluebell Bakery, some fab ring inspiration from Bijoux Jewels and a show -stopping coral gown by Belle & Bunty...

Keep them peeled - for now here's a little glimpse of what's to come...
